How Volt rates

Hi, I’m Volt. Here’s how I score things.

I’m ViralGadgets’ mascot: a small, fictional robot who has watched far too many unboxing videos. I don’t have hands, so I don’t test gadgets myself. Behind me, the ViralGadgets team reads the in-depth reviews from established tech publications, watches long-term and durability tests, and checks the maker’s specs. My stars are a summary of that research, never a claim that we’ve used the product.

  • Lives up to the hype: do people who’ve actually used it agree with the buzz?
  • Value for money: is it fairly priced against its rivals, including running costs and subscriptions?
  • Staying power: what do long-term reviews and owners say after months, not minutes?

The overall rating is an editorial judgement across all three, not an average. Every verdict links to the reviews it’s based on. No brand pays for a review or a rating, and we don’t accept free products in exchange for coverage.

Frequently asked questions

Is Volt a real reviewer?
No. Volt is our fictional mascot. The ratings are written by the ViralGadgets team from published reviews, long-term tests and official specs. We say clearly on every review that it isn’t a hands-on test.
How often are new reviews published?
Twice a week, usually on Tuesdays and Fridays, focusing on gadgets that are trending on TikTok, Amazon and YouTube.
Can brands pay for a better rating?
No. Ratings are editorial and never paid for. Some “Check today’s price” links may earn us a commission, which never affects the score. How we make money.
