Black Friday tech deals: dates, timing and how to shop smart

Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Here’s how to get a genuinely good price on gadgets, not just a big red “sale” sticker.

Key dates

  • Thanksgiving (US): Thursday 26 November 2026
  • Black Friday: Friday 27 November 2026
  • Cyber Monday: Monday 30 November 2026

Many retailers, especially in the UK, start “Black Friday” deals in early November, and some run Cyber Week offers into early December. Amazon’s October Prime Big Deal Days (6–7 October 2026) has already happened. See the full tech deals calendar.

Make a list now

Use the hearts in our gadget finder to save what you’re interested in. Then set price alerts with a tracker (camelcamelcamel or Keepa for Amazon; PriceRunner or idealo in the UK and Europe), so you know a good price when you see one.

What usually gets the biggest discounts

  • Amazon’s own devices: Echo speakers, Kindles, Fire TV sticks and Ring doorbells.
  • Headphones and earbuds, including older flagship models.
  • Robot vacuums, air fryers and other home appliances.
  • TVs, monitors and smart home lights.

Brand-new phones and consoles rarely get big cash discounts; look instead for bundles, gift cards or trade-in boosts.

Avoid these Black Friday traps

  • Inflated “was” prices: check the price history.
  • Look-alike models: sale-only versions may have fewer features. Match the model number.
  • Fake shops on social ads: if a big-brand gadget is priced far below everywhere else, it’s probably a scam.
  • Returns: UK and EU online buyers generally have 14 days to cancel; in the US, check the store’s policy and any extended holiday returns.
